Loch Lomond

Hello again, I was out with a friend today and we went a walk along the shores of Loch Lomond. Sky was a bit grey, and it rained for a little while, however, on the whole a lovely day.

I took my new camera with me and tried to get my head round "shutter speed", "aperture" and "depth of field"! Think I am trying to learn too much at once. I came across a lovely scene, lovely blue bells in and around the trees. I wanted to try and take a lovely picture and use my new flexible tri-pod, which I did. Unfortunately I ended up having to take the picture in "auto" which was a bit disappointing; however, I am out there..... and trying to learn.

Will try again tomorrow...

Why I'm starting this blog

HI there, I recently had a mile stone birthday which made me feel old! It has affected me much more than I realised, as in side I feel at least 10 years younger

About 7 months ago, I left a very demanding and stressful job for a new job which gives me the opportunity to have a more balanced life style, which is fantastic. I have admired people who are talented in different areas and recently found myself encouraging friends and family to spend time doing things they like and want to get better at, mainly for FUN.

With this advice in mind I realised I need to do the same, however, I'm aware of the many things which get in our way on a daily basis. I like to take pictures, but they never look as good as others... I'm not technically minded and very often need to be told something time and time again before it gets into my head. On a positive note, recently I took a picture with my blackberry phone which turned out great. This really encouraged me and after meeting someone in the local beauticians who was telling me about blipfoto.com, I joined up and posted my picture. I had many viewers and positive feedback which was amazing and very much appreciated.

Due to this, I decided I would try and get myself a digital SLR camera and try and work at a new hobby. On the 19th of April I got my camera which was a joint gift from all my family. Unfortunately I have only posted one picture since then, and had no viewers or comments even though I took the picture with my new camera. However, I will not give up.

I am planning from today, the (02/05/2010) to take a least one picture a day and post it on my blog. I have no idea if anyone out there will ever find my blog never mind be interested enough to read and comment on my entries and photographs but here goes.Feedback would be very much appreciated.
